Context
Thousands of recordings, some historic with few surviving copies, existed on ageing physical formats with no central, accessible way for people to listen to them.
Approach
We designed a streaming platform built to grow indefinitely, organised around how listeners actually browse: by album, artist, writer or podcast series, rather than a flat file list.
What we built
A full streaming platform: on-demand audio playback, artist and writer profiles, favourites, and a dedicated radio stream with OTP-based accounts (no passwords to manage or forget), built on the same careful cataloguing approach as SA Music Index.
Outcome
Recordings that were previously inaccessible, some literally unheard for decades, are now streamed on demand by a global community of listeners.
